Book Week The Book Week dress-up parade was on Friday 20th August. The students looked fantastic and a big thank you to all the parents and carers for putting together their costumes. No Trash Tuesday In accordance with our school’s Sustainability plan, our goal is to significantly reduce our school’s waste. No Trash Tuesday is an initiative which encourages students and families to take a mindful approach to reducing the waste we produce. Packing a lunchbox with no waste is both environmentally friendly and responsible. Tip: Try to use re-usable containers rather than bringing pre-packaged items. Literacy Phonics We have been working on split digraphs that using the bossy e such as a-e as in cake. The bossy e makes the vowel say its name. Mathopoly - like monopoly, but with math challenges. We loved learning this math game.   Blog week   4  We  are well underway with our learning in  T erm  2.  It is encouraging to see many children  farewelling  their  parents with  such  confidence. Super scientist

    Super Scientist Competition   Dear Parents   In Week 5,  th e Year One children have been invited to present a  short science experiment  to their peers. The class will  select  the  top two ‘ super scientists’  and they will move forward to the Year Level Challenge.    Task   •  The children need to research a scientific concept and then deliver a short experiment on this concept to their peers.  •  Each presentation can be  no longer than 5 minutes and a minimum of 2 minutes in length. •  Children can use ICT resources such as MS PowerPoint to support their presentation, in addition to posters, charts etc. All resources must be made by the children and written in their own words.  •  Experiments should be simple to set up, demonstrate an outcome within the time limit and be  SAFE.  •  Children need to explain what they are demonstrating, what procedure they are f...

 On the last day of term we had a lovely time celebrating all our hard work by enjoying some Easter themed activities. The students engaged in card making, biscuit decorating, colouring competition and Easter bunny ears.
